What is Godliness?

Introduction:

To establish the unity of God’s people in the faith, we must have the knowledge of God given to us by the Son of God, which by divinity was given to us the five fold ministry for the perfecting of the saints, for the people of God to reach the full potential in Christ.

In one gifted way according to the gift invested in me, is to answer who God is, where God is, what He is, and to know His purpose for Godliness for mankind, and to be able to answer whom and what can relay such a message, is indeed essential questions and inquiries for the sake of our unity.

1. Where is God? Psalm 139:7-8 God is everywhere: Scripture says Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths you are there. 1 Corinthians 3:16 “God lives within believers”: Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?

Expound: God lives within the believer so that it may perform the works of godliness.

1. What is godliness? To bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, is to perform these good works. Uprightness!  Bear Defined- (verb tense) to carry, endure, support, produce, or move in a specific direction. (See Hebrews 1:8 on question 5). Supportive scripture for the above:

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His “workmanship” created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

~ He who is empowered by their testimony  to relay the message in fact belong to god (set aside for His use, now that you have experience).

~ The experienced are anointed and mandated to proclaim in some manner, in some avenue or another, the works of the lord in the earth, specifically unto everyday people.  It is better to move forward in accepting such a responsibility because it shows that we are not ashamed of who God is, what God is, and through our experience, we should now know where He is. He is within us, having made us into His own image, proves His location. His identity is proclaimed when we act selflessly. And what He is, is evident through our very own experiences shared with others un regrettably.

-supportive scripture: Genesis 1:26 And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish. Of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, cattle, the earth, and every creeping thing upon the earth.

~Note: With the responsibility that man has been given it behooves him to be “godly” to foster harmony and unity in the earth so that dominion will always reside with him, without fail, successfully.

-Philippians 2:1-2

V1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

V2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

1. Who is God? Genesis 1:1 He whom created the heavens and the earth.

-But giving man charge to tend to it.

1. What is God?  John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

-Expound: God can be found in His word with the purpose of living inside of you.  Taking up the space of voids in our lives.

John 15:4-5 says Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Expound: This is the proof that man can only stay safe and be successful in their dominion when they stay aligned with God’s will and what God himself is and not redefine Him, turning away from His purpose for creation.

According to John 8:31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “if you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; v32 John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Expound: There isn’t anything in our seasons due that God will not reward us in its time when we abide in Him continually and remain steadfast as students of His word, proving that we belong to Him and not we ourselves. If we become our own idols, we are still in danger of missing God’s purpose for our lives.

Supportive Scripture about abiding in God:

• Matthew 28:19-20 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

• Note:  If we are leaders over Institutions, and/or heads of our governments in our heart of hearts, we are to be committed to discipleship (following) of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus if we desire to have his blessings upon us without fail.

~ Exclusive Deity of God - God is an exclusive God.  He wants to be our God alone without external material/carnal help. His spirit is vital to gain health and wealth if we desire to have it in abundance with life’s joys and happiness attached to it.

Supportive Scripture:

• Proverbs 10:22- The blessing of the Lord brings true riches, and He adds no sorrow to it.

• 1 Philippians- And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

1. Who and What can relay such a message from God? The Chosen ( the upright, or one who simply knows what is right), The anointed (a sign of God’s selection)

According to Hebrews 1:8 But of the Son, he says, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness. Why because Matthew 1:21  tells us: And  she (Mary) shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Sins would be the downward side of uprightness, or a decline from an erect state of being. Simply not doing what

God has commanded us to do in inspired scriptures. Sins can be described in word as moral decay from law and principles in which one once followed and abided by until deciding no longer to abide in them. Sin can be defined as a  vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God. With vitiated meaning- to debase in moral or aesthetic status //a mind vitiated by prejudice is just a Miriam Webster example of how to use the word.

I believe that God wanted man to exemplify His likeness in the earth, and not become their our and create their own likeness.  but this was inevitable once Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and shared it with her husband Adam.  The likeness of God’s image was holiness and uprightness in which is the purpose of His Supreme and Sovereign Rule.  Ruling in wisdom, protection, and favor.

Closing:

One would have to believe the inspired word of God to understand that God had an express will when He created each and every one of us.  To wonder away from the voice of God is to reject Him altogether.

We have been commanded to be perfect, as your Father, Who is in Heaven, is perfect according Matthew 5:48.  Simply put, what ever instructions God gives to you to do, you are made perfect through obedience to those particular instructions.  But there must be an established relationship, and a record of being committed to God.

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.

The proper attitude in godliness si to set examples unto all men.. to draw them unto the Heavenly Father above.  The ones who are empowered and anointed through the testimony are purposed to break yokes of bondage, when we suffer right.  Allow due process of trials and tribulations, and come out better afterwards.  Still praising God, and willing to live upright. Still testify of His goodness. This holds power amongst the saints.
