A Nugget of Thought

This is what Moses told Israel concerning how they received the commandments.
Deuteronomy 5:5 - I stood between the Lord and you at that time to show you the word of the Lord, for you were afraid because of the fire and went not up into the mount. He said,..
“Then Moses read or stated the commandments to them in verses 6-22 .”
“But pay special attention to the verses after the commands themselves when you look at these scriptures online or an actual Bible.” The commandments are not modern day legalism because verses 23-33 tells us that things will go well with them in the land they will possess “when they walk in God’s commanded ways”. And they promised to do all that God commanded if Moses would simply relay the message from God himself. But since they avoided death, in their minds, by not looking at the fire for themselves, they thought they would at least die another day, and live as they chose until then, with having received the law or not.
A note to remember: “God will also send us a word from Him, not given to us first. So we will sometimes have to rely on the spirit of God to “receive it and believe it”. We will need help seeing and understanding the things of God in our lives. We will need direction. We will eventually experience our own fiery trials. I didnt say we would like it, but we are to heed to the prophet’s when they speak, because obedience will be the best thing for the one who seeks to find God and His salvation. God’s salvation is in His commandments. God’s salvation, is in His word.
