The Psalms of Our Heart

Good evening All! I would like to minister to our hearts in a follow up on the last post. We all carry a song in our heart. Whether it be religious or of the various worldly genres. Some of you may not feel an obligation to a certain faith or religion. But I believe that every individual that has been in any kind of trouble or danger, seen or unseen, has called on the name of the Lord God. I also believe that the words “thank god” has flowed out of the mouth of the highly unsuspected individual. Occasional words are thoughtful and nice, but giving God his “due diligence” everyday is how mankind will be rewarded. And if you have ever read the Book of Psalms, it was the renown King David who most certainly displayed a passionate reverence for Him. He indeed had so many victorious battles to thank God for.

In the last post, I feel as if I gave the reader the Gospel of Luke 9:52-62 without explaining it with a perfect understanding. The New Testament scripture is mentioned in the Old Scofield Bible Preface (1917 Readers Edition). So though it may have correlated in the way it was used in the preface, some of us may have not understood why Jesus mentioned the fact that “the Son of Man had no place to lay His head”. If we do not understand this saying of our Lord’s, our faiths are in vain. I will present the same scriptures in this blog, but explain them this time as the Lord has given unto my understanding. Please institute these expositives in your Bible Study as the Holy Spirit leads you. In the actual Bible, the subheading is as the following:

“The New Spirit of Grace: Final Departure From Galilee (Cf. John 7:2-10)

Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem. Expositive: Jesus knew in His heart that He would be sacrificed for the Jewish Passover celebration. Therefore he did not run from it to avoid it, other than His prayer in the Garden of Gathsemane asking the Father if the cup of suffering could be removed from Him if possible. But for the most part, other than “his feelings about a brutal beating in which He would receive, Jesus had His mind made up, He was loyal to the charge on His life, by not being removed from His destiny that would save all of Creation.

Luke 9:52 And He sent messengers before Him; and they reached and entered a Samaritan village to make [things] ready for Him;

Luke 9:53 But [the people] would not welcome or receive or accept Him, because His face was [set as if He was] going to Jerusalem. Expositive: As in St. John 4:6-45, Jesus met the woman at the well and actual began to talk to her. But she felt the need to remind Him of the ill relationship between the Jews and the Samaritans. As the scripture reads, Jesus offered her living water that resurrected her from her soul’s issues that would cause her to be unforgiven before God. So He offered her life, simply by presenting the word of God, to receive the giver of life. She became so vibrant with life within herself that she ran and alerted some other Samaritans in St. John’s account of the Gospels, and they believed because they had heard the anointed Christ for themselves. But it is important for us to know this and take into great consideration: He was invited to be heard first, and not rejected, for a 2 day stay just to hear about this “Gospel”. But here in Luke’s account of His time spent with Jesus, Jesus was rejected by a group of Samaritans because they possibly didn’t want trouble from Jewish officials who sought to condemn those with affiliation of this so called newly proclaimed gospel. In which it wasn’t a new gospel. But yet the Gospel was only the purpose and fulfillment of the Laws God gave unto Moses in the wilderness. If we don’t grow, we are left behind. And when we finally find out about something, it is new to us because we didn’t know it. And Jesus was killed because a heretic was a different guy, with a different message, and clearly not a true Jew unto the leadership of the days of the Messiah. The Messiah brought about the words that would free the Jews from others and themselves. A word that simply said to love God with all of our hearts with obedience of works, faith, and loving thy neighbor as thy self, which is the way to serve our living God. Please make haste to read all of the New Testament Book of Romans 12. It is a great description of godly living. Works that we should be doing to be pleasing unto the Lord.

Luke 9:54 And when His disciples James and John observed this, they said, Lord, do You wish us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, even as Elijah did ? [II Kings 1:9-16.]

Luke 9:55 But He turned and rebuked and severely censured them. He said, You do not know of what sort of spirit you are,

Luke 9:56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them [from the penalty of eternal death]. And they journeyed on to another village. Expositive: The Christ wanted to make sure that all who could, hear and at least consider the Gospel of Jesus Christ for themselves before He cast eternal judgement. This attitude should be of all faiths. To teach what the spirit of God has given them to their communities, and the people should grow according to that word once they believe it enough to apply it to their own lives for productive living, therefore testifying that God, Jesus the Christ and the word of God is alive! Eternal death of the disobedient only comes after trials and testings. After God has looked at our faiths and works, according to the Book of James 2:14-26, God will justify us or not. It is important to know that the Christ knew and understood the callous attitudes of some Jewish leaders, and of those who simply followed their commands. He knew that they would never agree to His romanticized version of their laws, ultimately getting HIMSELF SACRIFICED. So that they may finally receive the word by His example. Yes, Jesus performed miracles. Which was obviously not received by some as heavenly, but of the devil. But when He gave His life for humanity, it was the greatest example set unto all men that God loved all that He had made. And there would not be one people, or one faith, that would suppress, or hinder His purpose forever. Over two thousand years would pass while all of humanity from different cultures and backgrounds would consider religion and faiths of their choice. And yet God has given and is still giving us time to hear the pure unadulterated words of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the long awaited for Messiah. He will one day be all and in all. And our Father simply wants us to reign with Him!

Luke 9:57 And it occurred that as they were going along the road, a man said to Him, Lord, I will follow You wherever You go.

Luke 9:58 And Jesus told him, Foxes have lurking holes and the birds of the air have roosts and nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head. Expositive: If I came to your town or country, would I be welcomed with the Gospel of Jesus the Christ? Jesus would have been a burden on households or His presence could have caused serious trouble for a family that would have taken Him in to teach this gospel. The Christ warned potential followers that it would not be comfortable for them, as it was that He was not accepted in some areas, amongst certain people.

Luke 9:59 And He said to another, Become My disciple, side with My party, and accompany Me! But he replied, Lord, permit me first to go and bury (await the death of) my father.

Luke 9:60 But Jesus said to him, Allow the dead to bury their own dead; but as for you, go and publish abroad throughout all regions the kingdom of God. Expositive: This person that Jesus spoke to seemingly was surrounded by spiritually dead people because they did not live a life pleasing unto God.. But Jesus noticed that he could be used in the field of ministry. Whereas, his dying father did not do the will of God for his life.

Luke 9:61 Another also said, I will follow You, Lord, and become Your disciple and side with Your party; but let me first say good-bye to those at my home.

Luke 9:62 Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God. Expositive: Loyalty unto God is required in this text such as it was when God called Abram to move away from his own country and settle in a land that He would show him. Abraham made a name for himself by being obedient unto God. He was given victory after victory, paying the tithe unto God when he received an increase in stock, and stayed before the Lord God in prayer when he returned from sojourning by making altars in reverence of God’s presence always being with him. Abraham passed down the same words that God spoke unto him in Syria to his promised son Isaac, and bore the princes of the Jewish faith, resulting of notable Kings and Queens throughout their earthly history.

And I will also leave you with this to ponder. Abraham had another son named Ishmael which was his first seed that God promised the child’s mother would also be a great nation. I must say, both nations of Abraham’s people are most passionate, but lack peace in their lands because they question each others right to be heir of God’s promises.

So then I ask, who can question such a divine promise and see to it that God’s will is not done? Not one alive I say! I myself have read up on the history of the two nations fighting back and forth. Terrorizing each other in attempts to pay the other back. Coming to the conclusion that there’s proof enough that neither side has thought clearly over the years to make peace. The burden has fallen on the Jews to begin a final patching up of a bad relationship between the two sibling (rival) faiths.

Consequently bringing offense to the so called enemy’s allies and neighboring friends and families. As if all of Jerusalem, Africa, and all other lands where the living God has stretched out His hand are not for all of mankind’s testimony, but considered a breach upon their territory out of the spirit of an evil prejudice. But yet, it was Father Abraham’s passion to obey that led him to disobedience! He was not clear at all on God’s instructions. God’s navigation system on how to get a baby down a woman’s canal and into her hands seemed way out of reach! But God meant just what He said. No matter how strange it sounded. Abraham created a mess right along with Sarah’s idea to make the promised heir in the first place, and today God has empowered them (the Jews) to make it right.

So the song in our hearts should be joyful songs about what God has done according to His will as we are faithful in our duties unto Him, and not because God only blesses a Jew.

In Juxtaposing the Jew and the Muslim faiths, let us feverishly treat our brother as we would have them do unto us. It is our New Testament “Golden Rule” in the godly believer’s faith (The Gospel of St. Luke 6:31). Ardently, I propose this question to you who continue to terrorize and not live peaceably enough to be trusted for a longstanding peace treaty between the two nations of people. Leading the way for the victimized to protect themselves, and utterly become removed from the talk of peace. Do you wish to have God’s promises finally, or continue to create heartache with outrage, and bloodshed? Let us do it God’s way. Get out of His way, and let Israel do what they know to be right. TWO GREAT PEOPLE, TWO GREAT NATIONS! Amen. Glory to God!
